About this event

The VPHA State Championships close out Paint Week, over four days from Friday 26 to Monday 29 March 2027. Day one (Friday) starts at 8am in the indoor arena with ranch riding, ranch pleasure, ranch on the rail, ranch conformation, ranch prospect lungeline, western riding and reining (judge: Justine Morlet), with trail, ranch trail and Tiny Tots outdoors from 9am (judge: Leanne Bartlett). Day two (Saturday) is halter from 10:30am, performance and youth halter, the halter features, versatility halter and showmanship, and day three (Sunday) is lungeline, western pleasure, western horsemanship and bareback equitation (judge for both: Steve Heckaman, USA). Day four (Monday) is hunter in hand, led and ridden hack, hunter under saddle and hunt seat equitation. High point awards are presented about an hour after the last class. Class fees: $25 regular classes, $100 feature classes, $150 Stallion Incentive features. All youth regular classes (not feature classes) and Tiny Tots classes are free. Per horse: admin fee $20 (the entry fee line below), arena levy $15 per day. Day membership $35 per rider per day for non-members. Stabling: $35 per night including shavings; tack room (empty stable) $25. All horses must be stabled - no tying horses to floats. Camping: $25 per day powered, $20 per night unpowered. Entries close 10 March 2027. Late entries are accepted until 19 March 2027 with a $50 late fee; strictly no late entries after that, and no entering at the gate. Late entries on the day are only taken until 8am with proof of payment.
